Why Atlas?

At Atlas Therapy Group, the name Atlas symbolizes helping children carry, understand, and explore their world.

Communication is how children make sense of the world around them. It allows them to express their needs, build relationships, participate in school, and develop confidence. When communication is challenging, even everyday interactions can feel overwhelming.

In mythology, Atlas was known for carrying the world on his shoulders. At Atlas Therapy Group, that image represents the support we provide to children and families as they build the skills needed to navigate their world more successfully.

Our goal is not to carry the world for children, but to equip them with the communication tools they need to engage with it independently and confidently.

The sun and moon in our logo represent growth and steady support, while the speech bubble and three dots symbolize language, expression, and connection.

Meet the Founder: Madelyn Mann, M.S., CCC-SLP

I am the founder and owner of Atlas Therapy Group, a pediatric speech-language therapy practice dedicated to helping children build confident communication skills and meaningful connections.

I am a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist with years of experience working with children across a variety of settings, including public schools, early childhood programs, teletherapy, and private practice. I earned my undergraduate degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University.

My passion for speech-language pathology is deeply personal. As a child, I attended speech therapy myself, and that experience gave me firsthand insight into the impact that effective communication can have on a child’s confidence and success. It also inspired me to pursue a career helping other children find their voices and build meaningful connections with the people around them.

Throughout my career, I have worked with children with a wide range of communication needs, including speech sound disorders, language delays, autism, social communication challenges, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). I believe therapy should be individualized, engaging, and centered around each child’s unique strengths and interests.

Through Atlas Therapy Group, I provide speech-language therapy in a variety of settings, including virtual sessions, in-home therapy, clinic-based services, and partnerships with daycares, preschools, ABA clinics, and school districts across North Carolina.

As a mother of two young boys, I understand how important it is to feel supported when navigating your child’s development. My goal is to create a warm, collaborative experience where families feel empowered and children gain the skills and confidence they need to communicate, connect, and thrive.

I would be honored to partner with your family or organization and support your child’s communication journey.
